Albion 1.0.9   (Build 3552. Changes from Jan 2008 - 17 March 2008)

New/Extended Features
  • Added 64-bit release.
  • Added Select Complex Polyline/Polygon command (accessible from data grid editor's menu).
  • Added support for PRJ files (projection information files that often accompany shapefiles).
  • Completely reworked Projection Assignment, as well as Projection Conversion.
  • Implemented implicit cross-table GIS attribute copy. When one copies objects from one GIS layer to another, attributes from commonly named fields are automatically copied too. This applies to all GIS creation operations, where the newly created objects have an obvious ancestor that corresponds to a single GIS record in another table.
  • Created Implode command, which is the logical opposite of Explode.
  • Added CSV data reader. CSV writer is not yet finished.
  • Added Voronoi cell generation from object centroids (accessible from Modify > Geometry > Voronoi).
  • Added new selction information "N our of M selected" to the data grid editor display.
  • Extended Select Duplicates to have a 3rd selection mode.
  • Added Convert Field Type for geometric fields.
  • Added Triggers to database abstraction library. No GUI support yet, but network topology framework is finished.
  • Rewrote out of memory handler so that it sends a full crash report when an out of memory condition occurs.
  • Minor improvements to Batch Layer Visibility change utility (esp locked layers in paper space layouts are now modified).
  • CAD Text is sorted along the Y dimensions before being copied to the clipboard. This makes it easier to get tabular text out of a drawing and into Excel, or something similar.
Bugs Fixed:
  • Reworked table locking mechanism, so that lock failures on remote servers (or certain Samba servers) do not cause long pauses while one is working.
  • Fixed a common false negative in duplicate polygon analysis.
  • Fixed GIS range edit, when one edited the 2nd last or the last item.
  • Added progress bar to all table save operations
  • Fixed all render and reverse render mechanisms, so that dynamically projected layers interpret CAD modifications correctly.
  • Labels were not being projected.
  • Disallow the user from overwriting geometry objects in the data grid view, when working with the clipboard.
  • Rewrote the bitmap downscaling filters. The previous versions could crash under certain conditions.
  • Fixed issue that one could not change GIS linetype style once it was no longer 'continuous'.
  • Removed an unneccessary step from Table/Save As so that it is much more efficient and faster.
  • Altered global time functions to use faster GetSystemTimeAsFileTime instead of GetSystemTime.
  • Reworked project and layer metadata mechanisms so that one has better notification when a project file needs to be saved.
  • Relaxed primitive creation restrictions for GIS line layers.
  • Fixed layer order crashes in GIS layer list, by moving layer order onto a separate tab (at the bottom of the layer list box).
  • GIS symbol styles now store relative paths to their XRef symbols, in GIS projects.
  • When editing a range item, one could not use the cursor keys to move around within the text box.
  • Rewrote Full Outer Joins. They should now be 100% correct.
  • Extended IsCommandBusy status to avoid common situations where one would begin a 2nd command while a prior command was still busy, resulting in all sorts of untraceable and unreproducable mayhem.
  • Changed DTM library so that the Delaunay triangulator always uses robust geometric predicates. This fixes some very rare problems when triangulating huge DTMs, where the triangulator would never terminate.
  • When not rendering cached views, GDI bitmap tiles were being rendered 2x!
