Warning about the GIS : The interface between the
CAD and the GIS is very fragile right now. Do not modify GIS objects in the
CAD, unless you are performing one of the following operations:
Move, Scale, Rotate objects.
Move grips.
Be aware that all operations on the CAD layer onto which the shapefile is
rendered are interpreted as GIS operations, and this is the mechanism that is
fragile. Do not copy and paste on the GIS layer. In order to import CAD objects
into a shapefile, move them onto the layer that the shapefile is rendered on
(usually named Shape: xxxx). Be aware though, that there is no neat spatial ordering
on imported objects, so adjacent records in the database will not be close to each
other. Their ordering will be completely random, but this will be fixed.
Many GIS-CAD operations are not undoable. That said, the undo mechanism is
synchronized for the CAD and the GIS. Thus, in order to undo changes that you have
made to the database, click the undo on the main CAD window.
